Jada's an AWARD WINNING Photographer!!

Today the Lowell Joint School District held their second annual Art and Authors Fair. Last year, we entered Jada's pictures she took at at Glendale Harley-Davidson's annual Skid Row Toy Run and at just 5 years old, she came in 3rd place. We were stoked on that.
This year, she wanted to take photos of dogs, so what better place to find lots of dogs than the dog pound. J.P. took her one day after school to visit the poor little guys. They all had different personalities for sure. But one stood out the most. They couldn't remember her name, but her face said it all.
Last night as we sat around the table, we talked about our anticipation of it all. I told Jada, even if she didn't win, I thought she did and awesome job and I didn't want her to be sad. She began to cry, but then I told her... I just don't want you to be sad tomorrow, but what if you take first place, that would be so awesome.

So today we entered the gallery, I began to feel nervous. There were so many cool drawings, paintings and poems. I didn't want to just rush and find Jada's piece, but she did. She saw her photo right away. She saw the ribbon as she got closer and then she started jumping up and down! She took FIRST PLACE!! We were all so excited and it is a great image. WOW! She became an award winning photographer at age 5, now a first place medal at 7!
